Photographs don't do justice to what an amazing place Laguna Lodge truly is. Beautifully designed, located on Lake Atitlan (where there is no such thing as a bad view) and with a commitment to minimising its environmental footprint. Our room (the Quetzal Suite) was stunning. Communication from the team ahead of our arrival was first class and to arrive by boat is an experience in itself. Imelda and Cruz in particular, were both incredibly helpful. The food was great (thumbs up from this vegan traveller!) and the icing on the cake was the beautiful, if slightly steep at times, nature reserve hike. Very little to disappoint, but I would say that some of the information and framed reviews are looking a little tired, in the case of the information folders, six years out of date. However, overall I would say that we had a magical.stay in a breathtaking place that is probably one of the top three hotels I have stayed anywhere in the world. We miss it very much! Highly, highly recommended.

***Accesible by BOAT ONLY*** I think that should be the first and most important info anyone should know. Do not use google maps to get here coz it will lead to a very dangerous dirt road n stops at a cliff n your forced to go down said dirt road to a little town called Santa Cruz, which has 1 Main road leading to a small port. There you can get onto a water taxi for like $3 to get to the hotel which is just one stop over.
Once you get to the hotel though, excellent excellent service. They were extremely nice and hospitable. They gave me an upgrade since it was low season and it was just us and one other couple in the whole resort.
Of note, the restaurant on site is vegetarian only. I didn’t know that either. Sure I panicked. What does one do but miss meat right away when I heard that. But surprisingly, the food actually tasted good! Loved their free breakfast. Get the toasted coconut French toast!
We never went off property since we had to work online. We didn’t get to enjoy the pool since it rained every afternoon noon. But nonetheless, if it’s eco tourism, this is the place. Rooms are huge and beautiful. Balcony was even better.

Very calm environment. The staff are wonderful. I traveled there with my two tween daughters and they had a blast jumping into the lake from the dock.

Our family had an amazing vacation at Laguna Lodge. Everyone working at the lodge was fantastic and so kind. Imelda, Lesly, Nikolas, Cruz, and Diego were so helpful at the lodge. Rosa was also amazing behind the scenes helping us to plan our vacation. Everyone at the front desk was so patient with us and always responded to my frequent emails! Francisca made us fantastic vegan food, including a 4-course prix fixe menu. Armando was an excellent and safe driver who took us back and forth from Guatemala City. And our multilingual tour guides were amazing as well: Maribel, Humberto, and Fernando, as we explored Antigua, Panajachel, Santiago Atitlan, San Juan, and San Pedro. The lodge was so relaxing and the view from the Jaguar suite and throughout the lodge was breathtaking. Our spa treatments also helped us relax after a journey to the Nature Reserve. A special thanks also for everyone who helped me with my Spanish!! Laguna Lodge is an amazing resort run by kind and caring people. I highly recommend a visit to Lake Atitlan and Laguna Lodge to everyone!

This hotel is fully vegetarian - we didn’t realise before arriving. We tended to eat out at lunch and then snack in the evening in the restaurant. Food was ok. Breakfast was very good but took a while so order for a particular time if you are on the clock. Staff in the restaurant were really good. Rooms were nice and spacious with fabulous views. Showers were temperamental and tended to be scalding or cold. The pool / deck towels may be recycled so ensure you get a fresh one and then keep it. We liked the remoteness but difficult to go out in the evening if you do want to.

Laguna Lodge is an oasis after enjoying your day’s adventure in one of the many surrounding pueblos on Lake Atitlan. The entire staff is wonderful, but a shout out is necessary for Imelda, Cruz, and Leslie. I am not a vegetarian, however, their menu is incredible and delicious and I did not miss anything.

An absolutely beautiful location and amazing lodge! The rooms all have a spectacular view. Our room, the Monja Blanca, had a spectacular view right from the comfortable king size bed. The room has gorgeous furniture and lovely finishing touches. The private sitting area in front of the room was also very comfortable. It shows that a lot of work went into creating the space. The restaurant food was delicious and reasonably priced. The staff were all very kind, friendly, and very helpful. Special mention to Nicolas who picked us up late and was especially friendly and attentive to us throughout our stay. Thank you Nicolas and all the staff. We appreciate you! (There is sometimes a smell in the room, as others have said, but it is an ecolodge. Also, it was a bit annoying that the hot tub had to be scheduled and paid for, but easy enough to get over considering the other pros for this place. ) I highly recommend and would come again.

El hotel es rústico, muy bien mantenido, la ubicación y la vista desde las recamaras es fabulosa. Es un hotel vegano así que si buscan cenar carne no es la opción, nosotros nos fuimos a un pueblito cercano mmm más o menos. El servicio del personal fue muy bueno, sin duda regresaría.

Dormitorios cheveres, frescos y reconfortantes los ni?os encantados de una experiencia sinigual volveremos muy pronto para sentirmos como en casa nuevamente esperamos que el lugar siga siendo tan bonito como hasta hoy

Bonito lugar para Hospedarse, y excelente servicio todo estuvo muy bien, contaba con buenas vistas y buen servicio todo súper higiénico la verdad si es muy buen lugar para descansar. Y pra compartir en familia
